Math Practice
Hands-on arithmetic lessons - type a formula, run it, and get checked instantly. Order of operations, percentages, averages, and compound interest.
Math Practice
Eight short, hands-on math lessons. Unlike the code lessons elsewhere in Practice, there's no function to write and no boilerplate to read - the editor is just a blank line, and you type a formula straight into it, the way you'd type one into a calculator. Order of operations, percentages, and compound interest to start; then three advanced rungs - the quadratic formula, solving for time with logarithms, and a tiered-pricing capstone. Each lesson gives you a task and a Run button.
Your result is checked by rounding it to 4 decimal places and comparing it to
the expected answer - you don't need to match decimal formatting exactly,
just get the math right. ^ is exponent (10^2 is 10 squared), and the
usual functions (sqrt, sin, cos, and friends) are available if a lesson
needs them.
Start with lesson 1. You can leave and come back any time - your code is saved locally.
